The Back 40

Sorry for no posting in a while. Anyway, a few weeks ago the weather was nice, so we worked in the yard with the dogs.

Moose seems like he's had enough yard work for the day.

Big Horn Sheep Canyon

This past week had some single digits for the lows, so we decided to drive the canyon and look at the partly frozen river.

It was below freezing for most of the week, so the river started to shut down.

Some places were iced all the way across.

View into the canyon

Looks like it may be cold - Yes, likely about 10 degrees.

The Year in Colorado

This Fall was  colorful

One snowy day
Overlooking the sand dunes at the end of July.
Evening sunsets are usually full of bright colors
Our water diversion stream. We dug out a ditch and Tina moved all of these rocks by hand, twice!
Waterdog lake - June 2nd.

At sunrise one morning . . .
Fire in Colorado Springs with many lost homes.  Pikes Peak is on the left.

Remains of an old sawmill in the mountains

Just an old fallen tree.
A petrified redwood tree preserved by an ancient volcano flow.  This tree trunk is about 8-feet tall.
